Training Policy

T Brown Group place a high level of importance on training, ensuring that operatives are kept up to date with qualifications already taken and with changes in legislation at all times.

This year, six operatives have undertaken Energy Efficiency training, 2 operatives have undertaken Part P Training, 3 operatives have undertaken data cabling training, 6 operatives have attended Legionella Prevention and Water Treatment Training and all operatives whose domestic or commercial qualifications were nearing expiry were sent on re-assessment training.

T Brown Group invests heavily in apprenticeship training and currently has 2 Commercial Gas Apprentices, 13 Domestic Gas Apprentices and 3 Electrical Apprentices in training. All apprentices spend one day training at a College approved by T Brown Group and the remainder of their working week shadowing a qualified Gas Engineer or Electrician.

We also encourage internal promotions, and currently have 2 members of our office staff, 4 plumbers and a builder undertaking gas training. 

Boiler fault finding training courses are regularly arranged for our installers and service engineers to ensure the highest levels of competence and expertise in the installation of all our products. This year we have sent a number of operatives on the Broag Avanta fault finding course, Vaillant Fault finding, Johnson and Starley Warm Air training and Ariston fault finding training.

In addition to the above, we offer 'in house' training courses, and have trained 27 operatives in asbestos awareness and regularly arrange Health and Safety 'toolbox talks' for all operatives.

Office staff are also encouraged to undertake personal development training and training carried out this year has included Word, Excel and Outlook. We have also had one member of staff who has completed her certificate in Personnel Practice. In addition to this, a member of staff from each office has attended First Aid Training.

We are currently in the process of booking all electricians on 17th Edition training and gas operatives on CPA1 training.
